Sunday morning I woke up early and hit the running track. These early mornings became some of my favorite times on the cruise. The running track is on deck 4 and is mostly outside on the deck as you run next to the ocean, at the front and back of the ship you duck inside for a bit. I was out running around 6 or 7 most mornings and there were only a few other walkers and runners out. It felt a little strange running on a moving ship, but I got used to it pretty quickly.
After my runs I would then wander the ship. There were very little people around so it was nice to feel like I had the ship to myself. Here are some pictures I took in the mornings.
(This was a Halloween Cruise, so there were decorations throughout the ship)
That morning we all decided to hit the pool. Unfortunately Max was just under the height limit for the aqua duck (42 inches), but he had just as much fun on the Mickey Slide and hanging out in the Mickey Pool. There are 2 family pools on the Fantasy. Mickey's Pool & Donald's Pool. Mickey's pool was shaped like Mickey (of course) and was shallow through out. Donald's pool was a little deeper at 5 feet. Cast Member led games and activities are held throughout the day at the pools. (There is also an 18+ pool called the Quiet Cove pool on this deck in the adults only section; whirlpool spas and cocktails are also in this section).

That afternoon we went and checked out one of the live performances in the Walt Disney Theatre. Today's show was The Physical Comedy of Michael Holly. It was a really good performance, he uses props and juggles in his comedy act. Both the kids and adults really enjoyed it. Even Max who normally has trouble sitting still for any length of time was entertained for the whole show.
That night the adults had reservations at Remy. We dropped the kids off in the kids club for a much needed adults only night! Remy is one of the 2 adult exclusive restaurants on board. Remy has a french inspired menu and the experience itself is one unlike no other. The menu has been created by 2 award winning chefs. Chef Arnaud Lallement of l'Assiette Champenoise outside of Reims, France and Chef Scott Hunnel from Victoria & Alberts at Walt Disney World. There is a dress code when dining at Remy; dress pants and jacket are required for the men and evening dresses or pant suit/skirt for the ladies. When you walk in you really do feel like you are transported into a fine-dining restaurant in the middle of France (while over looking the ocean). And not to be missed are how they incorporated Remy from Ratatouille into the decor. You are immediately greeted by the staff and made to feel like royalty. There was always someone around to anticipate your needs and get you anything you wanted right away. Your menus are given to you and reviewed, the menus can be confusing because it isn't like your typical dining experience. You choose one of two tasting menus or choose from the a la carte menu. These base menus are included in the price of the meal. Many other options are offered thorughout your meal to enhance the experience if you choose. I am a vegetarian (which I put in the comments when making the reservation) so a special menu was created just for me.
(The vegetarian menu created for me)
Your 9 course meal (yes 9!) is started out with the Champagne "Colette" Cocktail. Inspired by Colette in the movie Ratatouille, it includes strawberry, a mint leaf, Absolut Pears, and Taittinger Champagne and is prepared table side.
After the Colette you are served the Amuse Bouche, which is a small deep fried sphere of tomato soup. So good.
Before your courses are started you are offered a bread selection along with some creamy butter and sea salt. Unfortunately we do not remember what the names of the courses my husband had were but I do know mine. But I will include the pictures from his meals as well.

(Mediterranean Salad)
(Gnocchi)
(Tofu Tomate)

My husbands main courses:
After your main courses comes the cheese selection. A variety of samples of cheeses are offered along with dried figs and apricots, honey comb and cherry bread. I enjoyed some of these and others not so much. There were definitely varieties from every part of the cheese spectrum (from mild to very very strong!)
Then if you have any room left comes dessert!
...and after dessert is more dessert! A selection of Mignardises (bite-sized desserts) are offered. The woman are presented with roses at the end of the night and later on there will be a treat waiting for you in your stateroom (hint... more chocolate!)
So glad we were able to experience this meal with some of our best friends!
After our very long, but delicious meal we picked up the kiddo at the kids club and went and got him some ice cream (from the 24 hour soft serve station!) and headed back to the room to sleep off all that food!
Sounds like an amazing day at sea! I love the running deck, too!! We also hope to be able to get into Remy once we get on board the ship - we had it booked for brunch on our last sailing but since the timing of the new sailing was so close, all of Remy brunch was booked.
ReplyDeleteI have heard Remy brunch is just as good, hope you get in so I can read all about it! Loved that running deck and I also ran the Castaway Cay 5k, which was sooooo hot but still glad I did it!
